Now a statement by McCain to a group of business leaders concerned about obtaining visas for foreign workers, which suggests he has reversed his position yet again, is leading to rumbles of discontent within the conservative base.

The Republicans have been conjuring up make-believe scandals for years, so, what is good for the goose...

So, he was for it, before he was against, and now he is for it again. Can't recall any other candidate doing this before on any issue. His stances on issues are less grounded and thought out than a high schooler deciding on what hair style they want...

In general, employers and conservatives are FOR cheap labor, and unions and liberals are AGAINST it. But as part of their appeal to the jingoistic "protect America" faction (those white guys who find solace in their church and guns), conservative politicians must appear to be "tough" on illegal immigration. The trouble is, those guys don't just want the immigrants legalized... they don't want them at all.

There really isn't any way McCain can please all sides on the issue; he shouldn't try.

None of the candidates should. It's ridiculous, and they lose themselves in the process.

LOL, the problem is Mccain seems to be trying to do that without giving any regard to what he has said prior on the issue. He makes a fish out of water look stationary.

Senator McCain fails to state what happened the day that the bill didn't pass! The voice of the American People jammed the Congressional switchboard! It seems that many of our Congressional leaders are under the opinion that they can make choices without doing what the People want!

Securing the borders should be first priority for Congress.

            Thanks Mark!

McCain will throw anyone under the bus as soon as they might get in his way... and the bodies are piling up.

This puts him in the same category as Clinton and Obama. I guess all politician are alike.

Ever notice Obama doesn't have a real name according to my spell checker. This could be a sign.

It is all about nominating Supreme Court Justices. We don't want Obama nominating Supreme Court Justices, so we will vote for McCain even if we have to hold our noses. You can stay all nite, and talk aout anything you want, but we will not let Obama install Michele, or Hillary on the court. He has to put Bill, and Hill somwhere or they will be running things from a shadow government.

A lot of it is about Supreme Court Justices. I don't want the ones you want that will help turn this country into a Christian theocracy.

Separation of Church and state, one of the most important parts of the constitution.

FTA: "Last year's immigration reform bill became an important issue in the Republican primary and threatened for a time to derail McCain's candidacy. In February, McCain changed direction, telling the Conservative Political Action Conference that he had heard the concerns of the American people."

I don't for a moment doubt that the above is true. It's just that now he has also heard the concerns of the Big Business crowd, and they're the ones with the money to finance his campaign.

Flip flop? Where have I heard that before and who was it that kept saying it? Oh, yes it was the Republicans saying it about a Presidential candidate and that flip flopping was a bad thing and that we shouldn't elect that candidate because he kept flip flopping. So are the Republicans now flip flopping on this flip flop issue?

McCain suffers right wing backlash over immigration flip-flop

McCain has been a sitting senator for 18 years. He started off by being a Corrupt senator getting involved in the Keating Five Savings and Loan fraud costing taxpayers millions. He has done virtually Nothing to Control Illegal Immigration in Arizona. He Voted for and adores Bushes's Policy on Iraq where 4,000 plus Americans Died! He seems a bit confused on the issues Americans are concerned about, and, He doesn't seem to care. His wife has Mega Dollars, so, again we have another Trophy senator for the wealthy. America deserves better, your Vote Really counts, Vote the lifers out of office.

Turn the page, clean up Corrupt Washington.

Is it Fair to say Mccain should undergo some serious mental health examinations?

If Obama allows himself to be forced into putting Hillary on the ticket, should he have to have Psychological testing?

McLame is a poor excuse of a candidate. He flip-flops like mad and fails to do it gracefully. He neglects to say that "after much thought and reviewing newly available information, I have changed my mind."

He should be run out of town on a rail.

This is the last chance for McCain to become a president. I don't think he will stop at anything in his attempt to get there. First it was the "troops surge worked" that he came up with knowing full well that the reduction in violence in Iraq had very little to do with troop surge but that did not stop him from repeatedly saying that. He has stopped saying it now since the news of new violence is hard to be ignored by the media once again so McCain retreated from that. Can he retreat from his past stance on Immigration issue? He will make an attempt to do so as is obvious. This is a bad way of building a resume for presidency. Leadership is what is lacking in McCain camp and leadership is what America needs now , a CHANGE brought by a new LEADERSHIP
