John Kerry jokes about killing Bush »
Posted By amazed 4 months, 2 weeks ago in NewsThis is my first submission -- I agree that the joke about assassinating Obama was in extremely poor taste, but I don't recall any similar outrage when John Kerry made this remark in Oct. 2006.

I hear all the time about how hypocritical conservatives are. I am poised waiting to hear the outcry from all those on the left about these egregious remarks by John Kerry.

"I hear all the time about how hypocritical conservatives are. I am poised waiting to hear the outcry from all those on the left about these egregious remarks by John Kerry."
Why? It's in the past. It's amazing how Repugnant Cons will do anything to avoid talking about the actual subject at hand: a woman on Faux news calling for the assassination of a presidential candidate. Why don't you deal with that before jumping to attack someone else. Write your congress member to push them to get the AG to file charges. Or are you not as outraged as you claim when it serves your party's needs?

if you looked at my posts for Obama and for this one, I'm not as outraged as so many of you are by either of them. I think they're in poor taste, I don't, however, think either of them was seriously advocating the assasinations.
Where, exactly, am I "jumping to attack someone else"? I merely posted this because I really didn't remember all the hue and cry when Kerry said this, so I was wondering what the reaction to this would be from those who were so outraged by some lady no one ever heard of before make a bad, but apparently, off-handed joke.
I'm getting my answers, now.

You're right. Just a lot of shucking and jiving.
It's pathetic and petty that amazed had to go back to October of 2006 to find a tat for tit. How ridiculous!
Actually the whole story is juvenile.
People who conduct their personal relationships by recalling old insults never find peace or resolve.

I don't think the Dems seriously wanted to win in '04. Why else put up a dud like Kerry?

I think I'm going to just watch and see how many of the people who are correct in being upset about the thing said about Obama, what their reaction to this is going to be.
Will they be as upset about this being said, not by a new contributor but a Senator about a sitting president?
Is this levity? Is it innocent thought off the cuff? Or is it as egregious as what that lady said?
And lastly, will this thread get more than say 45 posts?

slate - As I said on the post re Hillary's comment, ALL they say is scripted.....
Ergo, if they DIDN'T want to say it, it woulda been cut out WAY before it went on camera.....
As for posts, well, let's see........

I suspect their reaction won't be surprise. It's a typical Repugnant Con tactic to try and distract people from the topic at hand -- such as a woman on Faux news calling for the assassination of a presidential cabinet.

The thing that isn't a surprise is your response and unwilingness to see that there are always two sides of a coin,,, You being outraged about this recent thing and so nonchalant about the other is well, another same ole same ole from you and some of the progressive folks on the left, but expected. But alas, this is still a youngish thread and there is still hope of the left, so I won't as of yet paint with a wide brush, but just paint those like you as you are.

"...calling for the assassination of a presidential cabinet."
First. stop smoking illegal substances. Second, she call for assassinating Obama. She slipped and joked -- poorly -- while referencing Osama Bin Laden.

Dionys: I don't think this is a tactic, just showing that no one side is holier than the other, they all cheat, lie and say stupid things.
But tell me this please; is there any Rep response to this stupid uncaring comment that is in the same vein as Obama's was to the shrillary, seems he is the only one that has tried to make little of these kind of braindead comments

Of course there is a double standard. There always iswhen dealing with the left. Even worse is the fact that they are upset about a contributor to a news networks words and not at a Senator? For God's sake, the man was running for POTUS while joking about killing the current CIC! What a bunch of freaking hypocrites!
