Mr. Fischer:
" He [Bush] seemed to be planning, together with Israel, to end the Iranian nuclear program -- and to do so by military, rather than by diplomatic, means.... Although it is acknowledged in Israel that an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities would involve grave and hard-to-assess risks, the choice between acceptance of an Iranian bomb and an attempt at its military destruction, with all the attendant consequences, is clear. Israel won't stand by and wait for matters to take their course. "
Mr. Fischer is right, of course. On the other hand, those pushing for a diplomatic solution must realize that a diplomatic solution may only work in case BOTH sides are willing to NEGOTIATE a solution.

We should start by taking the nukes away from the proven biggest terrorists in the mideast.
Israel must be held to same nuclear scrutiny as Iran
Do No Evil รข;; Israel is using nuclear blackmail against the U.S. Israel is saying that if we don't agree to use our nuclear weapons against Iran, they will use theirs. It is time to deal openly with Israel's nukes. The only way to secure a nuclear-free Middle East is to have every nation play by the same book of rules, and this must include Israel.
