American Conservative's positive review of new Israel peace lobby »
Posted By yurbud 4 months ago in NewsUpon leaving office in 2004, Democratic Sen. Ernest Hollings said what many of his colleagues surely felt: "You can't have an Israeli policy other than what AIPAC gives you around here." Jeremy Ben-Ami, the executive director of a new lobbying group, J Street, plans to change that.

From the article:
"They have come to promote another agenda," Ben-Ami says, "Our agenda is that we believe the security of Israel, the survival of Israel, depends in large measure on whether or not it can resolve these conflicts peacefully with its neighbors. This is also in America's best interest."
I'm afraid that Mr. Ben-Ami is mistaken. While it is correct that 'the survival of Israel, depends in large measure on whether or not it can resolve these conflicts peacefully with its neighbors' it is also correct that Israel can not resolve these conflicts on its own. This means that in order to resolve the conflicts peacefully with its neighbors these neighbors must be WILLING AND ABLE to resolve these conflicts peacefully with Israel.

from the article:
David Kimche, a former director general of the Israeli foreign ministry and a supporter of J Street, outlined the need for an alternative in the Jerusalem Post: "AIPAC has become more militant than the Israeli government".
I think its high time some of the big media picked up this story. AIPAC is THE MOST POWER POLICICAL LOBBY IN AMERICA.
Its insane, that 3% of the population of america, would control so much of foreign policy, and could steer this country into a war, costing 4300 young non jewish american lives, and hundreds of billions of dollars.
Where is the outrage in the mostly left-leaning Jewish community?
And of course, the american media is completely pro-zionist, due to almost 100% control of TV news by pro-zionist owners and reporters themselves, who like the anti-defamation league, consider critizism of the ratially pure ethnically cleansed american backed apartheid religious state an act of antisemitism.

I fully agree. It's insane. Can you make some... sane statements for a change?

For starters, there is no 'ratially pure ethnically cleansed american backed apartheid religious state" on this planet. Further, spreading racist hateful lies like those above about the Jewish state definitely IS an act of anti-semitism.

As of today this is not the case and no American lobby will be able to change this simple truth unless it will promote the road to solving the conflict between Israel and its neighbors by CONVINCING the neighbors that peace is better than war (or, alternatively, that war is worse, MUCH worse than peace).
