Voting rights groups are criticizing the VA for its decision to ban registration drives among the veterans living at federally run nursing homes, shelters for the homeless and rehabilitation centers across the country. Although veterans are not federal employees, department officials based their decision in part on the Hatch Act.

Any sane person would admit this is a drive to disenfranchise U.S. Vets...

NOT the American Way...not even a little bit.

      You said it.

They all SERVED this country and risked their lives for it. Yet they are NOT afforded EVERY opportunity to exercise one of the key rights that they served to PROTECT?

To NOT facilitate the ability of ALL veterans to be registered to vote is unconscionable.

Veterans, unlike some citizeens, know how to become registered to vote on their own. They don't need to be vote hustled by activists. These people are already hustling the mentally challenged, and the incompetent. They need to leave our veterans alone.

"Veterans, unlike some citizeens, know how to become registered to vote on their own. "

--It figures you'd have a problem with this. You're a con. But you're all for having military recruiters preying on impressionable high school kids (after they've been bombarded all their lives with ads bribing them to "be all that they can be"), I'll bet. Wingers are so predictable. LOL

Did you not READ the article? I know the answer ... No.

The veterans in the article are those that are elderly or otherwise ill and need care in veterans hospitals or nursing homes. They are not able to get out on their own to go get registered to vote.

There are no "activists" that are "hustling" anyone.

It would be "normal" people representing their LOCAL government to help the veterans REGISTER TO VOTE. There is nothing POLITICAL or ACTIVIST about it.

Typical KNEE-JERK reaction before even making sure you have all the facts.

Of course ani doesn't read the articles. She never does. She's stated several times here on propeller that she doesn't read or listen to articles or people she doesn't agree with. That is why she is one of the more ignorant people on this site.

This on top of McCain voting five times against funding for the VA.

That on top of McCain announcing he is against the new GI Bill, cause it would give our veterans too much opportunity.

You know, be fodder for the Bush/McCain empire building corp. and you`ll be rewarded in Heaven - cause you sure as heck aren`t going to get rewarded while the Republicans have any power.

McCain has a 20% rating / F grade from several veterans organizations in respect to his voting record on veterans issues.

Well this is another way to say thank you for your service and sacrifices by this administration. NOT! I've got nothing nice to say about this. Nothing nice at all.
