I believe that if the evidence shows that a crime was committed, prosecution of said crime should take place. There will be those that say the crime saved American lives ...maybe that might be so...but it still is a crime.

No one regardless of rank; position; or status is above the law. We are supposed to be a Nation of laws and if we are to be viewed as such, then we must enforce those laws regardless of who the law breaker is. To do anything less puts every citizen in jeopardy and degrades us in the eyes of the world.

I read your post and agree but there's a bigger picture here than just how Americans see themselves, how the world sees America and to prove to the world no one is above laws set and created in the international courts and UN. Remember the US was the driving force in creating the Declaration of Human Rights after WW2 but now are possibly the biggest offender since the turn of the century.

I've said this before, so one more time. I AM NO LIBERAL, NOR CON and if you had bothered to read, I said NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW.

There is no justification for torture and fabricating lies to go to war on a another country, your attempted distractions will only fool people who have no morals at all. In a just world they would be building a new long term prison in the Hague for the shrub and his gang of murdering thieves, or maybe even a set of gallows.

Customs agents around the world should be given decks of playing cards with the top 52 Americans responsible for ordering the torture of "enemy combatants." I suggest we give GWB the ace in all suits.

Has the world forgotten the lies the shrub told to invade Iraq and how they were totally unfounded? Should that not be one of the largest war crimes since 1945 and shouldn't it be brought before the international court? If you set foot on your neighbors property and destroy it there are legal repercussions, should there not be some for a country who does the same? I for one am sick and tired of governments lying on such a scale wonder if we are moving to a less civilized world instead of a more civilized one. American are proud to be gun totting people and thump their chest when a civilian with a gun stops a criminal but I must point out in a successful society fewer people turn to crime in the firs place.
