Posted By bruhaha 3 months, 2 weeks ago in NewsFor those who thought Tom Delay's departure would really change anything in Congress, this past week was a strong cup of coffee. On Capitol Hill, politics and greed still trump the good of the nation, still trump the Constitution, still trump all.

FTA: " In one week, Congress authorized one hundred and sixty two billion US taxpayer dollars to extend for another year the illegal and immoral occupation of Iraq, and rewrote federal law to specifically pardon criminal actions by the nation's largest telecommunications companies. No one really noticed that a retired US general bluntly accused the Bush administration of war crimes. He could just as easily have accused Congress of the same. They are just as guilty."

Congress is just as bad as Bush anymore.
Even the Democrats - except for a few that have attempted to try to do the right thing - are just as pathetic and crooked as the Republicans currently there and the Republicans they replaced.
It is beyond disgusting. Money controls everything - even elections and who can even RUN for an office.
95% of the people in this country are being screwed and I just don't know, at this point, how it can be stopped.

I don't know about 95% of the people being screwed, but many are and at the same time the legislators spend a lot of time trying to dream up new ways to give money away which we don't have to those who did nothing to earn it. As for the General, we've reached a point where, "who cares??". It wouldn't make much difference what he said, no one is listening. Congress is full of those who think they know best what's good for us and there's not much difference between those yahoos and the decider,Bush.
What I find shocking is that it has taken so long for some of us to realize this truth, that once elected most politicians serve only their party in their effort to maintain control. They don't give a damn about you and me.
Still listen to all the babble about how things will be better once Bush is gone. Really think so? Or are we replacing one incompetent with another? All this talk about change, hope and so on is just that, talk.
