Many Democrats have taken away the wrong lessons from Kerry's loss. To be sure, Clark didn't say outright that McCain's service was a sham. But in trying to argue that McCain is no more qualified to be president than Obama, he tried to undercut McCain's experience instead of showing confidence in Obama.

    FTA:

If Clark or other Democrats want to ease voter anxiety over Obama's military inexperience, they need to do two things:

First, stop trying to deconstruct and psychoanalyze McCain's military experience. If voters know anything about McCain, it's his experience as a prisoner of war. This is not a point of debate.

Instead, show faith in Obama's judgment. Remember, "experience doesn't equal good judgment" was an effective argument in the primary. Here's how to update it: "Hey, I have lots of experience in military/foreign affairs and I would proudly and confidently serve under Obama as my commander in chief." Pretty easy, eh?

The only thing I've seen Democrats and Obama do - as well as the Obama-heads on Propeller - is attack, attack, attack McCain.

I guess that's all you can do when your candidate has no experience and no real qualifications for the position.

I heard on the car radio that this is part of a setup. The Dems are saying that the questioning in Guantanamo was destructive to the detainees.

Therefore, McCain's mind was probably damaged during his prison time!!!!

      Also FTA:

Obama can't succeed at being the "un-Kerry" if Democrats are stuck trying to win the last election.

      Is anyone listening?

McCain doesn't need to make a speech about patriotism - anyone who suffered for over 5 years as a POW has solid patriotic bona fides. Clark and other Obama surrogates attempting to belittle McCain's military service come across looking like the scared McGovernites that they really are.

If Obama's hatchet men foolishly keep the focus of the campaign on patriotism and security, Obama will lose. And if Obama loses, they won't get positions in Obama's cabinet.
