Posted By bubba2 3 months ago in NewsJesse Helms will be remembered as one of the leading figures in the rise of the Republican Party in the South - a person who helped move conservative Democrats to the GOP. But was Helms a throwback to the Dixiecrats who used race to divide people? Or was he a visionary who helped create a conservative renaissance in the country?
