The Democrats cannot let it off the hook. They'd be completely irresponsible to do so.

Why would Democrats let the Telecoms off the hook? My daughters theory was they think they will win the Presidency in November, and they want the same power. However if you check around you will find the average amount the Telecoms donated to Democrats running for office was $8,000. Follow the money.

its insane that a democratic controled congress would cave to the current admin on this illegal warrentless wiretapping

johnathon turley really summed it up best for me...he said, the law has been broken and now we have senators that r gonna help the criminals cover it up....any yes vote this afternoon should be charged with obstruction of justice
