Wow, Dole needs to go. Either she is so stupid she didnt realize what she was doing, in which case she needs to be replaced by someone with half a brain. Or she did this as some sort of sick joke at the expense of those suffering from AIDS. In which case she needs to be replaced by someone with half a heart...

Per the ThinkProgress site --
Helms was notorious for his ignorant comments regarding HIV/AIDS. In 1987 he described "AIDS prevention literature as 'so obscene, so revolting, I may throw up'" and in 1995 Helms argued that "that the government should spend less on people with AIDS because they got sick due to their 'deliberate, disgusting, revolting conduct.'"
For sure, Elizabeth Dole has gone either crazy or senile ...

She is currently in a competitive race in N.C. for re-election. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Her proposal is a slap in the face of the millions who have died and or who have fell ill due to HIV/AIDS.

I just can't believe that she would do that. I mean, who in their right mind would ever want to attach such a disgusting pig of a man to something so beneficial to millions.
I guess she is just trying to rewrite history. If Bush can paint himself as an emancipator, why can't she paint Helms as a healer?
Truly disgraceful.
