Phil Gramm is from the banking industry. The same industry that lobbied for years to overturn 'Usury' laws. This permitted banks to charge ANY amount of interest they wanted ....

Usury is considered to be a sin in all the worlds religions.

If there is anyone who exemplifies the word WHINER it is Phil Gramm.

He stands elbow to elbow with the super-rich in America ... whose sole purpose is to circumvent oversight and accountability .... the result is the current international fiscal crisis.

The fact that Johnny McCain chose THIS individual to define his economic plan SPEAKS VOLUMES that Johnny will continue to pander to the wealthy and connected class as they inexorably continue their DESPERATE and SICK crusade to heap ever more wealth upon themselves ... without ANY consideration to the health of our nation.

He can leave the country, who would care? Don't homeless people have a reason to whine, when they can't afford gas to go to work to provide a roof over their head, doesn't that give them a right to whine? That man should be ashamed of himself.

This is something Gramm and McCain have talked about in private, and Gramm screwed up and said it in public. McCain is doing nothing but providing lip service, i just don't understand why the cons on here can't see that.

Any man who did his own wife and children the way he did, isn't fit to lead this country, he doesn't even care about his own flesh and blood, let alone us.

I thought he'd be McCain's perfect running mate!

          He's got all the qualifications.

Better yet, with his track record, how about Secretary of the Treasury?

McCain actually voted to close the "Enron Loophole" in 2003. However, Phil Gramm talked him out of it. Since then, McSame has voted against or stalled any legislation that would close this exception. Nothing new, McCain has voted on both sides of the same issue before :). To summarize, The "Enron Loophole" makes oil speculators rich and gas prices for the average American soar. Most Economists believe closing the loophole would cut the current price of gasoline by 40%-to-50% for the average consumer. Gramm is an excellent example of the type of economic advisor McCain has in his camp. Phil Gramm is a lower form of life. McCain is not far behind.
