Sounds like Maliki got a late night call from Rice, explaining who was in charge.
No more interviews for Maliki without a representative from the DOD on hand.
Interviews are taped; I wonder if Der Spiegel will offer them to be translated?

Yeah, Maliki has made it clear that he doesn't support Obama, but likes the idea of withdrawal, although he's still pushing his ASAP withdrawal plan.

Can ANYONE show me (in this article) where ANYONE says that Maliki said ANYTHING different from what was reported in the German paper?
Anyone? No where does Dabbagh or ANYONE ELSE say that Maliki said "X" instead of "Y". No where does it even say that Maliki's coment was taken 'out of context'.
The only thing the article DOES say "Dabbagh said statements by Maliki or any other member of the government should not be seen as support for any U.S. presidential candidate."
Since NO ONE associated with the German report and NO ONE associated to the Obama campaign has EVER said "Maliki is endorsing Barack Obama for President" I fail to see how this article changes ANYTHING.....Maliki and the Iraqi government want the troops out of Iraq. Obama has said he will get them out with 16 month AS LONG AS THE SITUATION ON THE GROUND ALLOWS IT. Maliki says that Iraq thinks that is a good time frame.......What EXACTLY is the 'propaganda'?
